Antique circa 1860 CORTI of Glasgow Burlwood Banjo Wall Wheel Barometer Thermometer with Fluid filled Level at bottom. Gorgeous burlwood and lovely INLAY all around this beautiful barometer! Beautiful silvered face dial no damage! ; Thermometer (fluid filled) and dry/damp gauge at the top. Wonderful Swan neck pediment at top with brass finial. The barometer opens at the back by a narrow door and behind it is the glass tubing and the strung glass bobs. Door opens and closes perfectly! It is in excellent antique condition all around! Just a few blemishes to the veneer, but nothing noticeable (see photos). The knob that turns the set needle on the barometer may not be original but works fine. All in working condition. Thermometer is totally accurate. The mercury has been removed from the glass tubes but the barometer was also working perfectly. Size overall is 39″ long; 10 5/8″ wide at widest point. This is a highly sought after barometer and in amazing condition! It would be a focal piece for any home, office, or study!
