John Benjamin Dancer (Born Oct 8, 1812 Nov 24, 1887) was a British scientific instrument maker. He is also known for inventing stereo photography and micro-photography. He made accurate thermometers for JP Joule’s experiments on heat. He supplied equipment to Dalton, Williamson, Sidebotham and colleague also of Sturgeon, Nasmyth, Roscoe, Herschel, Carpenter and Binney. In 1855, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society. Today his instruments that survived and are valuable collectors items.
