Vintage wood, mahogany I believe, Sheraton style barometer by Short & Mason, England. It has a banjo shape case and satinwood wheel, shell and border inlays. Aneroid movement and an alcohol thermometer. Circular dial with scale ranging from 28 to 31, compensated for temperature. Reads changeable, rain, fair, stormy and very dry. S&M dial on back goes from 0 3,000 feet. Measures 34″ tall and about 8.5″ at widest point. Approximately 1.5″ to 2.5″ thick. Very good condition overall, with a few minor nicks and scratches mostly to back edge (where it meets wall) and backside. Front and side wood looks very nice. The white background to the thermometer has a gray patterning to it. Not sure if it was made that way or happened.
