Very Rare Paul Naudet & Cie Holosteric Barometer for Chs. Offered is this very rare Paul Naudet & Cie Holosteric Barometer for Chs. Circa 1870’s/80’s, the company founded by Messrs. Hulot, Pertius and Paul Naudet produced high-quality barometers in Paris, France. The Naudet & Cie company was founded in 1860. They made holosteric (without liquid) and aneroid barometers. This unique example is marked “TYPHOON” with scales giving the locality in distance for storms. It also features a rotating bezel to adjust the latitude scales on the outer ring. Marked with the typical “PNHB” (Paul Naudet Holosteric Barometer) and “MADE IN FRANCE – HOLOSTERIC BAROMETER” and CHS. This round barometer is made of brass, glass, and blued steel. It has a thick pivoting hanging ring, also in brass, for hanging it perpendicularly for observation purposes. There is a gold-tone brass pointer hand which matches up with a word scale as shown in photos with a blued-steel pointer hand hand for the barometric scale. The scale is calibrated from 28 to 31. It features a curved Centigrade &Fahrenheit thermometer with a silver-colored mercury bulb. It measures 6 in diameter. I don’t believe it’s working, but I’m sure it can be repaired. Marked on the rear of the case with the typical PNHB’ company mark. Here is a link to the Chs. Listing and template services provided by inkFrog.
