A super nice dial barograph from instrument maker Short & Mason of London. This one has a beautiful wooden (not sure of the wood type – doesn’t look to be oak though) base and case with beveled glass panels in pristine condition. This one has a nice dial to make reading current barometric pressure much easier. S&M registered their dial (number 428606 on bottom of dial) in 1904. Looking at the design of the movement and bellows, I would date it after 1904 but probably before 1930 due to the tension pen arm design (later ones used a gate type arm). Comes with a bottle of green ink and 52 charts. Clock has been oiled and works as it should. Almost perfect, but does have a small chip in the glass (on the top pane underside and a crack in the drawer bottom – see pics). This was model 2305NN in S&M/Taylor catalogs. All brass pieces on this one are a nice bronzed color, rather unusual but I have seen a few like this. Movement has been thoroughly calibrated and tested for accuracy and is guaranteed. All of the products I sell are tested and calibrated. Using the highest quality calibration standards using a special pressure chamber designed just for this purpose.
