Green Fortin Type Stick Barometer with Hand Carved Wooden Case. Green moved to New York in 1849 and worked as Jas. Green until 1879, at which time he began to work with his nephew and the instruments were then marked J. Green – so fairly easy to date this as being made between 1849 and 1879. The wood case is hand carved and fits beautifully. The barometer is marked “1700″, as is the case. As shown, the barometer measures 41 1/4 long. In very good condition with some light wear to the brass fittings. We can’t say for sure if this is in all working condition. Fragile items will be double boxed. We will never use newspaper as padding, although we do recycle clean boxes. Return must be mailed within 60 days of package receipt. We check e-mails nearly every day.
