Marked on the face Sturm Veranderlich Bestandig. Measures 11″ x 2.5″ x 27. The wood carving on this piece is excellent. There is only a small dent in the back edge of the upper edge of the piece – see last photo – not noticeable from the front. The back plate of the thermometer appears to be metal or porcelain – hard to tell. The glass on the front of the barometer is very thick. Since we have had this piece, we’ve seen changes in the thermometer based on the inside temperature in our house and it has been accurate. But, we have not seen the arrow on the barometer move. We are not familiar with a barometer and how it works. The original owners have passed away and a family member said it was brought back from Germany many many years ago and has been used in her father’s house up until his passing.
