This is from my great uncle’s estate. He is was a long time collector. Bourdon & Richard’s Wooden Wall Barometer. I’m not sure the exact date of this but the dates on it are. Universal Exhibition Council Medal London 1851. Gold Medal Exhibition London 1849. The serial number is 9406. It measures12 1/2 in diameter. It also has the word “compense”? Imprinted on the brass that encircles the inner workings. I think that is the word but it is extremely small so I have a really hard time reading it. It passed the “bag” test and the thermometer works but I don’t know if the temperature is exactly correct. I see a small scratch on the glass which you’ll see in the pictures. There are some cracks in the wood which the pictures will also show. Note: I do not have the key for this. I took several pictures to show the condition.
