Antique Late 1800's PHBN Barometer Thermometer

This is an antique late 1800’s Pertuis Hulot Bourgeois Naudet. The company that started operations in Paris, France in 1859 by the founders, Messrs. Pertuis, Hulot, Bourgeois and Naudet, began operating as Naudet & Cie in 1860. Their Trade Mark was “PNHB, ” for their last names, and later was said to mean, Paul Haudet Holosteric Barometer. They were located at 4, Place Thorigny, Paris. Over the years various changes took place in ownership and management, but the high quality of their instruments was maintained. They survived the rigors of WW II. In 1985, the company’s headquarters moved to 12, rue du Bois, in Le Perreux sur Marne. This piece measures 5.25 diameter and is 2 thick (4.5 diameter on the backside). The backside is marked PHBN. I believe this thermometer was produced in the late 1800s to early 1900s. The company PHBN made weather instruments for sailors. My guess is that E. Bausch & Son (Rochester, New York) imported the piece for sale in the United States. There are signs of weathering and small scratches, but no dents or scratched glass. The glass crystal is beveled along the edge and there is a mounting ring at the top edge o. Tis is a nice vintage piece and would make a wonderful addition to a collection. A Great PHBN Barometer/Thermometer Fine Antique Condition!
