I have seen this type angle barometer before but never had the opportunity to offer one for sale. This Antique angle tube stick barometer is English, early 19th century. An angle barometer by Charles Howorth, the mahogany case features fruitwood inlay along the edges, stylized sunburst patterns at the top and bottom of the arms, and inlaid shells on either side of the base of the thermometer. The dial of the barometer signed C. Howorth / Halifax, and features four hand-painted cherubs. The back has a removable plate to reveal the scales; ht. I don’t believe it is working; there are a very few minor veneer losses; honestly overall very good condition. Note in first picture another wall barometer which is NOT part of this sale.
