Antique large carved solid oak thermometer and aneroid barometer by John Bruce & Son, Liverpool. Circa later 19th century. Decorated with flowers, leaves and scrolling along with two pillars. Best described with the photos. This large instrument consists of an 8 3/4″ diameter barometer and 14″ thermometer section. The barometer has a porcelain painter face with delicate pointer. Thermometer is under an elegant beveled glass cover. Overall measurements are approx. 41 1/2″ long, 12 1/2″ wide and 3 3/4 thick. Is in outstanding condition for it’s age. On my wall for quite awhile and appears to function correctly. This instrument is very ornate and will be a stunning addition to any home. He pictures are an important part of this listing.
