Very rare antique desk barometer in form of medieval knight’s helmet with lifting visors. Set on bronze & rouge marble bases, the helmets are made of silvered bronze, decorated with heavily engraved gothic style patterns. The barometer has a silver dial and very fine counterbalanced hand. This superb desk ornament is English c1875. There are perhaps missing elements as there are 2 small holes in the base front.
