Product Details: A rare issue barometer/thermometer patented in the second half of the nineteenth century by the Admiral Fitzroy. Mercury barometer placed in an oak wooden cabinet, with double reading vernier applied to the column of mercury for the verification of the change of the atmospheric pressure and a bulb with a particular fluid that foresaw the arrival of bad weather. Although this particular unit is not fully functional it is still in very good cosmetic condition and makes an excellent showpiece. One of the indicator hands is detached and lies in the bottom of the case. The original case is solid oak is in excellent condition. In tall by 11 in.
