Here we have an. Antique, Gilt Brass, Gentleman’s Aneroid Pocket Barometer Altimeter, made by. The dial is marked: TURNBULL & CO. OPTICIANS EDINBURGH & LEITH. This Scottish company was established in 1894. This instrument is very good condition. The brass cased barometer is in working order and has been verified by use of the’plastic bag’ test. The Gilt brass case shows some very minor wear to the finish and still has its original aged patina. The silvered dial is in good condition with an aged patina. No nicks, chips or cracks in the beveled-edge crystal. The revolving outside altimeter ring works as it should. The top crown and bow ring are in very good condition. No owner’s marks.
