This is an estate find. I do not know anything about its operation. It does seem to be complete and intact, I see nothing broken. There is a good amount of mercury in the bottom container. As you can see in the pictures the bottom holding bracket is detached from the wood box. There is also some light pitting to the some of the metal surface, The instrument itself measures approximately 39-1/2 long. The wood box measures 44″ x 4″ x 3-3/4.
