This is a very good 150-year-old mercurial banjo barometer for restoration. It is the tulip style made in england between 1850 and 1880, i estimate.
As you can see, the case needs some relatively minor vaneer work. Also at the top and bottom, 1.5 inch wide pieces of the case are loose all the way through and will have to be reglued.
This is a common problem as the core of the case was originally made of glued- up boards. The top hygrometer is completely missing, but the very valuable thermometer is complete.
The mercury tube is missing but the rest of the operating parts are there. This is a great antique barometer which you can restore at a reasonable cost and enjoy for years to come. Optional/additional mercury tube: the original mercury tube was broken but i can provide you with a partially filled tube and enough mercury to fill it for $55.
