This listing is for a BEAUTIFUL SHORT&MASON barograph probably from the 1920’s. It is earlier than 1930 for sure. Will come with 50 blue SHORT&MASON logo charts, (or, if you prefer, I can include 50 green #3fs charts, that have the “ABC” method of weather predicting)! I think the blue charts are STUNNING, and will set of the gilded brass movement and red Mahogany case to full benefit. Full bottle of red ink, it has a cast brass dipper. New English made nib installed. My pictures do not do this justice, but it is winter here, hence that frozen “white stuff” in some of the pictures. I will give you copies of the page from 1921 catalog in which this instrument appears, plus copy of manual sheet. Sure to be the pinnacle of anyone’s collection, as these are magnificent. Extremely accurate, really moves with even slight pressure variances, as barographs employ a full chart scale. This instrument has been ultrasonically cleaned, then sparingly lubricated with moebious clock oil to provide many years of trouble free service in weather predicting aboard your vessel. Finally it has been precision calibrated in my IDEAL-AEROSMITH calibration chamber to provide complete accuracy. Check out the calibration report for assurance of accuracy. READ THE “ABOUT ME” PAGE FOR PICTURES OF MY CHAMBER AND GAUGE CALIBRATION BENCH. THE REASON FOR THE”STRANGE” READING ON THE DIALS OF MY INSTRUMENTS IS THAT I LIVE AT 4400 FEET ABOVE SEA LEVEL. THE AVERAGE AMBIENT BAROMETRIC PRESSURE IS 25.5 or 860 millibars. This precision pressure gauge has been calibrated on my HEISE calibration test bench, using traceable transfer standards, with nitrogen gas.
