Early 20th century pocket barometer/altimeter in gilded brass case, much of the gilt intact. Light scratching on case, no dings or dents. Beveled and bowed glass crystal in perfect shape. Aluminum dial has some staining, everything readable. Outer bezel ring rotates to adjust reading. Have been watching needle for 3 days, has only moved slightly. Unsure if this piece is working or not. Comes with original leather case, rough in shape but neat to have. (see pictures) thanks for looking! We will be auctioning many fine compasses (as seen in last photo, part of the collection). Many private issue, civil war era, ww1, ww2 and both wooden cased and brass explorer compasses dating back to circa 1820. Please follow us as we will have up to 6 listed at any given time over the next 6 months or so, along with some other antique and vintage collectibles! We are looking for positive feedback….. And will happily leave the same! Gave this barometer the plastic bag pressure test and the needle moved up with the pressure and reset itself when released. The item “Antique Gilt Brass Pocket Aneroid Barometer & Altimeter, Circa 1910″ is in sale since Friday, January 16, 2015.
