Very Rare Thermo-Barograph Combination Thermometer Barograph by Richard Freres

Very rare thermo-barograph combination thermometer barograph by richard freres. This is a really nice old piece of scientific equipment. It is a combination thermometer and barograph also known as a thermo-barograph. The piece was made by richard freres in france. The barometer piece has 7 diaphragms and the piece has double drum with a clockwork mechanism in it. I do not have a key to wind the clockwork as it requires a long key to reach the winder. Underneath the piece there are two fitting for keys that adjust the height of the recording arms. I borrowed a key that fit these and they both work well. The box that the piece is housed in is particularly nice with three sides of beveled glass. The instrument case measures approx. 8″ high by 7 5/8″ wide and 5 deep and is in good condition with the exception of some corrosion to the handle and nameplate and a chip out of the wood on the back top. If you look around online you’ll see plenty of barographs but very few thermo-barographs.
