To operate, set the outer dial arrow to match the inner dial arrow when you get up in the morning or when you go to bed. Then check it hours later to see if the barometric pressure has changed.
If it goes up or down you can what your weather will be on the dial. After you take your reading, reset the outer arrow again and watch for the next change. This barometer has seen several hurricanes here in connecticut, as well as blizzards, and simply fair weather.
