Antique Wheel Wall Barometer J Howard England Project or Parts 44 Inches Long
Antique wheel wall barometer(non working). In its past life it appears to have been a 5 functional barometer, thermometer. There is mercury in the thermometer however we cannot say for certain if it keeps temperature or is functional. The item does not work, for it has numerous missing parts necessary to make it functional. Even with all the issues of missing parts it somehow has managed to maintain a stately look.
The case is pine with mahogany veneer and black string inlay. Overall the wood is solid and it is in fair to good condition, even with its issues of minor wear and some missing trim at the top, scratches and a split at the very top. The case is finished off at the top with a brass finial. The case will need restoration as well. We noticed a long glass tube inside the back of the case is broken into sections.
We are including these tubular glass sections, just in case one desires to restore this barometer, and might need these pieces to determine the length of the original glass tubes… It measures 44 inches in length, by 12 inches wide(at center of wheel section).
