Vintage FRENCH Barometer in white decorative housing w/ finial – Unknown maker. French Art Deco Open Face Barometer. Casing in white oval, with see through face design. White and brass finial on bottom. Oval is about 3 1/2 inches high without finial. With finial, about 5 1/4 inches high. Oval is about 4 1/4 inches wide. Barometer face diameter is about 3 1/4 inches round. Lying face up it is about 2 inches tall/thick Actual weight of this item is 13-14 ounces. Seems functional, however, I have nothing digital to test its accuracy against. Back of casing is cracked in several spots around the edge. See photos for more details. Antique Victorian Mahogany Stick Barometer Unknown Maker. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep for yourself! Great piece here ready to be displayed as is, or for you next restoration project. Quite an Antique Stick Barometer here. Unknown maker to this piece. The barometer probably dates to mid 1800s. You be the judge before acquiring. What a wood case this piece has! The case is probably made of mahogany. Check out the beautiful brass and glass trim on the front of the piece. There certainly is some minor loss of finish to the the case. Old browned out and brittle paper under the two pieces of glass for the face. The slide indicator is still in place. The rear galvanized plate over the glass tube bulb is in place. The old metal hanger is not still on the back of the barometer case, someone has put some wire thru a hold at the top of the cae to hang it. The glass tube is in place and intact and still has some mercury in it. Not sure if the barometer of the weather station is operational or not, so going to say the barometer is not working. The glass tube is still in the back of the case and has a little mercury left in it as well. This is a great project Weather Station here just waiting for the right person to restore it to the piece’s former glory. This Antique Stick Barometer is 35.75 tall, by 4 3/8wide. I will use over sized box for Maximum protection. Please examine the photos for reference.
