It has a key lock case. It runs, but the strike needs a governor adjustment on it to slow it when it does strike. Appears an amateur clock repair person did some repairs to it. It has a very, very limited chipping on the case veneer, but still is a wonderful early FASHION clock. This is one of the difficult FASHION Models to acquire. So not sure what the value is today. I think this one is early 1900s and it is a beauty. The wood design and case is in awesome condition and the clock works perfectly and keeps perfect time. It chimes as it should on the hour and dings on the half hour. It comes complete with winding key. The inside back panel cover has handwritten dates of 1988 and 2003 for service work. It stands 11 inches tall, 8 inches across the front and about 6 deep. This clock is absolutely gorgeous!!! Read the label on back of clock and it says patented 1870.
