Here is a wonderful early rosewood, barometer, the thermometer seems top work, not sure of the rest of it, there is mercury in the back, only one tube however I thought they had two, so comes as shown, this is kinda unusual as I think that might be some type of bone and its decorated!

Antique Victorian Rosewood Thermometer Barometer. Working condition is uncertain, the thermometer is running about 10 degrees high. In good original condition showing some typical age appropriate wear from normal use, there are a couple shrinkage cracks to the upper portion of the case. Please see photos for precise condition.

19th Century English Rosewood Mercury Wheel Barometer / Thermometer. Circa 1840 rosewood cased mercury wheel barometer with decorative edge moulding. Circular gilt brass bezel with dome glass over a silvered dial with black inches of mercury pressure index and blued steel pressure, indicating hand with a brass history marker, which is manually adjusted by the lower gold colored key. Complete with a separate brass dial Fahrenheit thermometer. Small rosewood case imperfection, please see last picture. Condition consistent with age and use. It is in Very Good Antique Condition. 15″W x 3″D x 45H. Approximate weight 11.5 pounds.

Here is an antique banjo barometer early to mid 1800s. Measures 38″ tall, to describe starting at bottom going up 1st dial is 2 3/4″ across, theres a missing knob spot? Then the large dial that’s 8.5″ across, then the mirror which is foggy from time, measures 4.5″ then the thermometer 2″ across x 7″ Top dial is 2.5. Barometer looks to be veneered in rosewood with total detail. These back in the day were of vital use throughout the world for weather. Side is also detailed in rosewood veneers and Back has a hinged door opening up to long glass tubes. On this banjo is 1860 written in chalk, then “Steve 1860″ is carved and also scratched or etched in on inside. This banjo Barometer is in overall great shape with exception to top. Not sure about much here, age and maker. It does appear to be working however. It is missing the dial. No doubt a restoration individual could come up with something. Just noticed I haven’t a photograph of the entire front, to consumed with the details I guess, will try to post one and certainly request if interest.
