This is an amazing antique metal, possibly bronze Obelisk decorated with Egyptian Hieroglyphs. This is the Luxor Temple obelisk, there is one in France and the other still in Egypt. The Original Thermometer is mounted on a brass plate and is in the Reaumur scale, the Reaumur Scale was used in Europe until the middle to late 1800’s. The base is in marble, it has a few small nicks on the back top corner and bottom. Please see photos for all the detail in this unique piece.
