A fine English mahogany stick barometer circa 1790. The three finial molded top above engraved brass marker plates and signed “Polti Exon”. The chamfered edge case with herringbone veneers ends in a cistern with drop finial. The Polti family of Exon were a three generation family of barometer makers. The quality and excellence of design through execution of this piece is evidence of a great family pride in their skills.
