Here is a recent estate find. This is a Rare Antique Working TAYLOR Rochester NY Victorian American Maritime Pocket Barometer with Fitted Leather Case. The Barometer is Made Of Metal with Pocket Watch Style Design. It Has a Silver Metal Dial with Beveled crystal Glass, Signed “Compensated for Temperature Hand Limit Taylor Rochester NY”. 3″ in Diameter x 4 1/4″ Tall, and is in Good Cosmetic Condition!!! It is in Working Condition, But May Need to be Calibrated for your area, This Might Be What You have Been Looking For!!! Don’t pass this one up, goes up to 16,000 feet. What you see pictured is what is included! This pocket barometer-altimeter was manufactured by the Taylor Instrument Company of Rochester, New York, likely during the mid-20th century. It features dual scales for measuring atmospheric pressure in inches and altitude in feet, with a temperature compensation feature to ensure accuracy in varying conditions. Such instruments were highly valued by aviators, mountaineers, and meteorologists for their portability and reliability in field conditions. Collectors of scientific instruments and aviation memorabilia particularly prize these barometers for their historical significance in early flight and exploration, as well as their precision engineering and craftsmanship.

No damage to this piece, however I do not know if it actually works.

Antique Pocket Barometer Compass and Thermometer Compendium.

The leather case has a 3 ½” diameter with a 1 ¼” thickness. The Brass Barometer has a diameter of 2 ¾” with a 7/8″ thick body. It has a guilt surface that shows wear with tarnish in spots. The face is marked “Compensated’ “Made in England. It has areas of tarnish and mild stains. The needle moves very slowly and does not match a modern piece. Please look at the photographs as they are considered part of the description. I guarantee it to be old and as described. Negretti & Zambra London Antique Pocket Aneroid Barometer. Tested by placing into a plastic bag with air and pressing on the bag moved the needle. No further testing was done, I don’t know if it needs calibration or service.
