Antique Brass Naudet Pertuis & Hulot Holosteric Barometer/Thermometer with Original Case. Made in France with original leather covered wood case. Retailed by John Bliss & Co. New York, New York. Barometer & thermometer are in working order. Barometer has a diameter of 5-1/8″ x 2″ tall. Wood case measures 6-1/2″ square x 2-5/8″ high. Condition is antique with expected age & use wear to brass finish & wood case has some separation at the front (shown in pictures) along with use wear to the leather covering. Beautiful 19th Century barometer made by Pertuis Hulot Naudet (PHNB) in Paris. Pressure is reported in inches of mercury and the thermometer is Fahrenheit scale. Lovely patina on brass case. I have compared it many times to local barometric readings and it is accurate. It is rather rare to see these barometers without advertising on the dial. The dial shows some aging and the glass is not cracked although there looks to be some debris stuck to the inside of the glass. Brass has wonderful patina from aging.
