Pocket Forecaster Barometer Negretti Zambra with Box and Papers. Pocket forecaster of celluloid construction, the face with tri-concentric discs: the base with directions of wind and signed by the maker Negretti & Zambra, London , the mid disc with barometric scale in inches of mercury, the upper disc marked with makers logogram and Pat. 6276/15 , (1915) and set with three viewing windows revealing a forecast code for steady, rising or falling pressure, the verso marked with 26 weather predictions. The code obtained from the upper disc may then be translated on the verso to a predicted weather forecast. The pocket forecaster complete with instruction sheet, heavy card retail case. Extremely scarce in this condition, very light wear overall, the retail case with slight marks to edges and some damage to box, the celluloid clean with minimal signs of ageing. 1939 – 1949 taylor fisherman’s barometer in original box with original papers. I’m not sure if it works but it is in great condition cosmetically. Box cover reads:taylor fishing guide, fisherman’s barometer.

A garage sale find from about 15 years ago. I don’t know anything about it, just thought it was interesting. It appears to be a barometer or barograph.
Comes with extra graph paper. Writings on the papers are in both german and french. If you take the top off of the brass cylinder, there is a winder, and when wound, it makes a “ticking” sound, so it does appear to be functioning.

There are some scratches and imperfections and one of the long rectangular glass pieces is missing. It is quite heavy and weight almost 5 pounds. Please see photos and ask questions.
