Each with a tall plinth form with gilt laurel wreath and telescope cast finials. Decorated with foliate ogee cornice and panel bordered with lotus leaf lappet surround, on conforming cast skirt base mounted on a rouge marble base. Each being attached with a square brass/bronze nut on the bottom marble base. The thermometer with kerosene-based column with red dye. The calendar with probably a reproduction paper calendar for purposes of display inside. One having a retail label on the bottom from a Paris France retailer. We cannot discern the name. Both in overall good condition for age. Some gilt loss, surface scratches etc… The calendar with a frontal corner chip loss to the rouge marble base. Height – 8 1/2 approximately. I know the term’Monumental is over used in the antique business. But honestly, these each are monumental at over 4 feet high. These are fabulous architectural pieces from a fine home, hotel, or public building. Each over 4 feet long with Victorian fruit and grape carvings. The clock has a high quality time and strike brass spring driven movement with Brocot escapement. Reverse painted glass dials are signed A. Richy, a Paris and are in good condition. The clock has a Centigrade thermometer and the barometer has a Fahrenheit thermometer, in a matched pair of carved mahogany cases. High x 24 in. Wide x 5.5 in. Fabulous clear blue peacock color glass manufactured by Boston & Sandwich company in the 1800s for use as a scientific equipment thermometer shows much better in person. These are rare to find. And even more rare to find the painted Chinese Mandarin figures depicted under palm trees holding flowers or palm fronds in brilliant colors. They date circa 1880. These are missing the thermometer inserts as shown in the glass recess on each pyramid shaped glass block. There are also a few chips and dings as shown in the picture but they do not detract from these peacock blue items. Would be fabulous displayed in a sunny window. This antique barometer is a stunning rich oak. The acanthus leaf and eagle carvings are just stunning. The face of the barometer appears to be porcelain with a beveled glass cover. The beveled glass is fine, and the face of the porcelain has some crazing. I believe the barometer is working… The thermometer portion has been replaced- it is working. 23″ tall x 9 1/2″ wide. Framed in brass these have a beautiful ornate detailed face covered with domed vintage bubble glass, quite striking. They both have a brass bass with the framed instruments elevated on two brass balls. These are in working condition but the accuracy is unknown.

The back appears to be a bakelite and both read wittnaurer instruments division. Each measure 4” wide 4 1/2” high and 1 1/4” in depth. One is a barometer measured in millibars and has an adjustable dial. The other is a humi-therm which is a tempature gauge and a relative humidity gauge. Overall condition is very good showing only minor wear consistent with age. This is a perfect set for the weather enthusiast or the vintage wittnaurer collector.
