Vintage NPHB Holosteric Barometer and. Wall mount , ships wheel, research indicates from the 19th Century Made in France. This is a Holosteric Barometer signed PBNH. There is an intact glass, Fahrenheit thermometer on the lower end of the dial. It is cased in a heavy brass ships bell-type case. We inherited this barometer from my husband’s family. They were originally from rhode island and no less than 12 sea captains listed in the family history.

The nph company manufactured this type barometer in france about 1880. It has graced our mantle for a lot of years and now it’s time to let it go. It will make a grand statement when displayed on a beach cottage mantle or wall, or on a wall or bookshelf in your home or office. We have not inquired of anyone if it can be repaired or restored.

The nph company manufactured this type barometer in france about 1880. The brass has heavy tarnish, and can be easily cleaned. The glass front is cracked, easily replaceable.

Both hands are there and this is a solid piece, not in working order – the face of the gauge is in good condition. No dents to the frame. I have tried to describe the piece as accurately as possible and please see pics for the most detail. This gauge is a beautiful decor piece or excellent for someone to restore.

French barometer probably from the last quarter of the 19th century. This barometer is in untouched condition. Not knowing anything about barometers, i won’t say whether it is in working condition or not. There is mercury in the thermometer and it reads 71 degrees which is the temperature in the house. About 5 inches across and about 2 inches high.
