Brass mechanism, mohogany case, everything In good working order.

Very nice vintage Barograph with clock work mechanism in a Mahogany and Brass case. It carries a maker’s label which reads Ets MAXANT PARIS – EST 93100 MONTREUIL. The Barograph is predominantly made from polished lacquered brass and sits on an enameled metal base plate which carries a serial number of 348178. The metal base plate is set within a Mahogany frame. The Mahogany and glass cover is hinged at the back and has a brass latch mechanism at the front. The clockwork mechanism appears to be fine, but I have no idea how to set it up properly sorry. The case measures; length 8 inches (20.5 cm) width 4.25 inches (11 cm) and height 5 inches (12.5 cm). Makes an excellent display piece for any history buff! See pictures for more condition detail!

Maxant’ “Ministere de la guerre” Paris 1910. Barometer is in a wooden box with brass on the dial marked & quot; “Ministry of War”. Made in Paris around 1910. Has normal wear for age. Wood box has 2 cracks inside the barometer box (see pictures). The lid slightly split where hinges are outside of the box (see pictures). Overall appearance is very nice & rarely found like this, very good condition. Considering its age over a century old. Tested and Works (See last pic showing pressure change). All things being considered guessing that this instrument was used in the field, e. An airfield, military base, but could have been used by a need for a portable unit. This was made by MAXANT a quality company that produced precision instruments, a very high end instrument.
