The barometer is set within an intricately hand carved Giltwood frame with outer neo-classical design and inner beaded bands. The hand painted background displays a circular chart indicating the weather conditions on the outer edge. Above is a carved and pierced cartouche displaying birds atop quivers of arrows and surrounded by laurels of flowers and oak leaves. All original gilt and patina throughout. So when you’re living and picking in this kind of environment, It is not rare to come across real pieces of art and history.
