For sale, this wonderful antique German combination pocket barometer, thermometer, compass. Believed to be from the late 19th century (1880). Measures 2.25″ in diameter x 1″ deep. Double sided with ring bow. One side has a steel hand and a white dial marked in German. At the top it says: STURM. At the base it reads: “Aneroid Barometer”. The flip side features a circular mercury thermometer marked in centigrade and Reaumur scales. The center is a compass marked in degrees. Given the age, I would say it’s in good pre-cherished condition. Aged as shown – please see pictures. I cannot attest to the functionality or accuracy of the piece. Here is an antique 19th century ? Round barometer and mercury thermometer. The barometer is 7 inches in diameter and 2.5 inches in depth. The dial is original and is in very good condition. The thick beveled crystal is also in excellent condition with no chips or damage. I think the mercury thermometer is working but not sure about the barometer as i know nothing of these barometers – i have taken pictures of the inside of the barometer to help. The mercury reservoir is also in very good condition. The all brass bezel is also in very good condition – just needs a polish to really stand out. The rest of the case is also black coated metal but does not appear to be brass. The only issue to note is that the 2 retaining screw bolts on the back cover are missing.
