This unique French barometer was found in France. It has an Alabaster housing set on brass and ormolu decorations surrounding the dial. This is a perfect desk top barometer. There is a sturdy brass easel on the back. The piece has been serviced and tested by our clock maker and is in very good working order. The alabaster has a few age related nicks and some of the gilding is a bit worn. Measurements are: 4 3/4″ wide, 5 3/4″ tall and 1 1/4 deep. Vintage FRENCH Barometer in white decorative housing w/ finial – Unknown maker. French Art Deco Open Face Barometer. Casing in white oval, with see through face design. White and brass finial on bottom. Oval is about 3 1/2 inches high without finial. With finial, about 5 1/4 inches high. Oval is about 4 1/4 inches wide. Barometer face diameter is about 3 1/4 inches round. Lying face up it is about 2 inches tall/thick Actual weight of this item is 13-14 ounces. Seems functional, however, I have nothing digital to test its accuracy against. Back of casing is cracked in several spots around the edge. See photos for more details.
