1930 Hand Carved Aneroid Banjo Barometer Thermometer British Walnut.

This is a fine hand carved, German Barometer, that can either stand on a piece of furniture or on the wall. The frame is 13.5 inches high and about 9.3 inches wide at the base. The Barometer has a 4 and a half inches diameter. L have only had it for a couple of months and there has not been significant change of the weather meanwhile. Offered for sale is a large Black Forest hand carved wall plaque housing both an aneroid barometer and a thermometer. No cracks, no chips, no repairs! It’s a highly decorative piece, and has been on the wall of my home for decades. It wasn’t until I moved it today to photograph it….. That I realized that BOTH the barometer and the thermometer are WORKING! No one had ever even noticed this before… ! In addition, I just discovered the piece’s only real flaw: the round back plate covering is missing. The four tiny nails are still in place — but the cover is gone.
