A fabulous wall barometer, late 1800s to as late as 1910, with aneroid mechanism that’s working perfectly and a wonderfully crafted frame of natural stag antlers. A cartouche of hand carved antler showing a hunting hound, dog there above the face of the barometer only adds to the appeal of this wonderful cabin or hunt or ski lodge, Country French decor treasure. Measurements noted on photos, but it’s 23″ tall, 10″ wide. Very good to excellent condition throughout, working well and beautifully crafted. Solidly mounted, these are actual antlers from a deer stag, and the carved pieces are also horn/antler. No chips or cracks, no losses. Firmly attached, no wiggle to the mounting. The barometer is working well. Not always easy to tell here in San Diego where the weather never changes. But with a rain storm today, I can tell it’s moved accordingly.
