Pocket forecaster of celluloid construction, the face with tri-concentric discs: the base with directions of wind and signed by the maker Negretti & Zambra, London , the mid disc with barometric scale in inches of mercury, the upper disc marked with makers logogram and Pat. 6276/15 , (1915) and set with three viewing windows revealing a forecast code for steady, rising or falling pressure, the verso marked with 26 weather predictions. The code obtained from the upper disc may then be translated on the verso to a predicted weather forecast. The pocket forecaster complete with instruction sheet, heavy card retail case. Extremely scarce in this condition, very light wear overall, the retail case with slight marks to edges and some damage to box, the celluloid clean with minimal signs of ageing.
