An antique Dutch leaf and’C’ scroll carved and reticulated barometer measuring 25″ by 10″. The ground glass is set in a brass ring, the enameled dial with some fox marks reads in Dutch. The milk glass thermometer dial measures 4 3/4 tall and registers degrees Centigrade and Fahrenheit. In good condition, consistent with its circa 1890 vintage normal and expected wear is present as shown. They are in working condition but not tested nor guaranteed to be accurate. Antique black forest weather station with flower design on wood frame. Recently acquired it at an estate sale. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself. Listing was taken down for a possible sale that did not take place. Not sure of the age or maker of this weather station. My best guess is the piece is from the late 1800s to early 1900s. The weather station was made in germany as noted on the back of the case. There is also the number 5113 noted on the case. The weather station has a great looking wood case to it. The case may be made of walnut or mahogany, but not sure so you be the judge. Great flowery and foliage design around the whole case. The bareo has barometre holosterique note on it. There is a “20″ impressed on to the back of the case. I thought the piece was german but the language on the barometer dial is in french. The thermometer has reddish liquid in it that seems to be capturing the temperature still. Cannot say if it is accurate. The porcelain dial behind the thermometer is still intact and has “centigrade” noted on it. The glass over the barometer face is intact, no cracking or blistering. There is some scratching to the glass. Not sure if the barometer is working or not, cannot speak to its’ accuracy. The needle to note the current barometer position still works as well, just a little tight. The hanger is still at the top of the piece. This is a great weather station just waiting for the right owner. The weather station is 23.25″ tall, by 9.5″ across, by 2-1/8 wide. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
