This is an american signed Welch Clock Company black and green adamantine mantle clock circa 1885. It measures 18 x 11 1/2 inches, with a brass bezel and 4 1/2 inch arabic numeral dial. Here’s an antique Pocket Barometer/Altimeter that dates to around WW1. It has the back engraved with the original owner, F. TUCKER 141 ESSEX ST. The guy I bought this from obtained it from that owner’s family and was told he worked for the Railroad. The barometer is totally made of brass with nice knurling on the bezels. The front bezel rotates to set the Altitude. The dial face is silvered and has some tarnish. There’s a maker’s mark on it too. There’s a screw adjustment on the back. It fits into the hard clamshell case wiht green lining and leather covering. Very rare antique desk barometer in form of medieval knight’s helmet with lifting visors. Set on bronze & rouge marble bases, the helmets are made of silvered bronze, decorated with heavily engraved gothic style patterns. The barometer has a silver dial and very fine counterbalanced hand. This superb desk ornament is English c1875. There are perhaps missing elements as there are 2 small holes in the base front.
