This is an incredible fine large barometer! Signed on the lower portion, the thermometer works, I dont know for certain on the barometer part, that’s of course as is. There is mercury in the back so that must be a good sign. The only issue is the broken arch a piece of the arch is missing, this could be repaired, 43 inches the wheel is about 11 inches, I believe the name is Mazzo? Not a common one for sure. Just a fine piece, the line inlay seems good overall besides what is noted seems nice, just ask questions please. WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO GET A QUOTE BEFORE PURCHASING AN ITEM.

This finely crafted precision aneroid barometer with Hg thermometer is mounted into a richly carved image of a spread wing eagle landing on rocks. Dating to the years just before WWII, it measures 11″ tall x 11 3/4″ wide x 1 3/4″ deep with 4″ diametr barometer bearing German language indications. The barometer changes with the weather; I can’t say how “precise” it is. There are no breaks or losses in the wood and it needs a gentle cleaning. Antique Brass and Marble Thermometer w/ Eagle Topper. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep for yourself! The body for the thermometer is made of brass. That is affixed to a pink and white marble base. Nice incising of the temperatures and wording on the face of the piece. The thermometer’s glass is intact and the silver m-fluid is in it. The glass is still securely attached to the body. A gold colored Eagle Topper with outstretched wings on top of the piece. Sitting on a Brass Ball probably representing a Globe. Either the screw or rod that hold the piece together will not allow it to be snugged up. Think the screw is a little too big and needs replacing. Fresh from local Rye New York estate we have a pleasure to offer you this great hand carved Barometer. Great combination of black and gold, covering some spectacular carvings. Top features a spread wing eagle. Bottom has lovely rope and tassel carving around the main dial. It was made in Italy between 1930’s and 1950’s.
