Here we have an antique Tycos Stormoguide aneroid barometer , made by Taylor Instrument Companies Ltd. Of Toronto, Canada and dated 1922. It features an altitude adjustment dial on the back, and a key on the front pressure range dial indicating upcoming weather. Measuring approximately 5-1/4 in diameter, the barometer is in very good condition. It works well and displays beautifully, with just some wear to the black paint finish and a bump to the bezel that has resulted in it being very slightly out of round at the 8:00 position when viewed from the front. Really Sweet Vintage 1927 Taylor Instrument companies Stormoguide in a walnut case…. It’s about 5 inches X 6 1/4 and about 1 1/2 inches deep…. The face is about 3 1/4 inches in diameter and in excellent original condition…. Some minor wear on the wood which a buddy of mine says it looks like walnut…. I know nothing about hardwoods so that may or may not be true… There’s a dial on the back that you set to your elevation to get a correct reading for your region….. I’ve been watching the needle on the front and in N. Ohio the weather has been pretty much the same lately but I do see it has moved maybe a 1/4 inch or so during the night so I think it does work…. Pretty cool and cheap….. Now the fine print. I’m not happy but have no choice…. I think your issue is with the post office not me…… Thanks for looking and good luck! Early 1900s taylor instrument company brass altitude barometer, with beveled glass face cover. The knob on top rotates the outer ring of the face, which is marked with feet and meters. The brass ring around the beveled glass also can be rotated; it has a tiny pin that can be aligned with a setting on the barometer. The face, with a white finish, appears to be metal with engraved numbers and markings. The face of the barometer has. Across the top with the following in the center. There is a number “3755″ on the back of the barometer. The face is graduated in meters from -200 to 1800 and in feet from -1000 to -6000. The barometer has a 3 inch (7.5 cm) diameter and is 1 3/8 inches (3.5 cm) thick. The barometer works, but has not been calibrated. It shows wear consistent with its age and use. An very rare antique 1927 taylor instrument companies barometer from rochester, n. The middle control dial is broken and floating around in the glass as pictured. It looks to be in working condition. There are minor scratches on the octagon wooden case. It has some weight to it about 3 pounds heavy.
