18th C GILTWOOD BAROMETER – LOUIS XVI PERIOD- CIRCA 1760. An elegant French 18th century Louis XVI Period Giltwood barometer.. The barometer is set within an intricately hand carved Giltwood frame with outer neo-classical design and inner beaded bands. The hand painted background displays a circular chart indicating the weather conditions on the outer edge. Above is a carved and pierced cartouche displaying birds atop quivers of arrows and surrounded by laurels of flowers and oak leaves. All original gilt and patina throughout.
