The Early Antique Tin and Wood Standard Barometer/Thermometer / storm class by Chas E. Large is an original scientific instrument dating back to the pre-1930 time period. 1905 barometer from Baltimore, Maryland. I couldn’t find the maker but Chas. Was a Baltimore optician in 1905. The barometer was made in and measures 6 3/4″ X 2 1/2″ England and does have some brass wear, but otherwise beautiful. It is in perfect operating condition. Please feel free to ask me any questions. This is a handsome antique 19th-century pocket barometer that was made by the Chas. Tagliabue Company, of New York City. This offering includes the original fitted case. Antique Standard Barometer/Storm Glass and Thermometer Combined made by Chas. E Large, Brooklyn, NY. Dates to the late 19th century, I believe. All original and authentic. Wood and metal framework, the top and bottom pieces appear to be oak. 3″ by 8.5″, with a metal eye hook for hanging at the top. Original sealed glass in both thermometer and barometer. There is sediment in the barometer, and the thermometer does not seem to be accurate and is hard to see where the mercury exactly is. Original directions pasted to back are intact, but they are darkened and stained and hard to read. BRASS STANDARD WALL BAROMETER. HUTCHINSON, Boston BRASS STANDARD WALL BAROMETER Made In France and in Working Condition. Weighing a little over two pounds, this made-in-France barometer measures 6 in diameter at the bottom flange and is 2 ¼ tall. The thick glass has a beveled edge and the whole piece is in excellent condition with no defects noted. I have not polished this but believe it would be stunning were it polished. Antique wood cased chas wilder cottage thermometer-barometer peterboro n. The thermometer appears to be accurate compared against the one at my house. Overall the piece has wear, is dusty/dirty, has stains & scratches. The other sides barometer , as seen in pics is dirty, no idea how it works or if it does work. Not so much dirty fluid inside just looks odd, maybe how it is supposed to be. Overall wood case measures about 9-5/8th”s x 2-5/8th”s. Glass of therm about 6-7/8ths. The thermometer has unique weather descriptions. The degrees range from 40 degrees below 0 to 140 degrees. It must have been very hot or very cold in those days!

The barometer reads stormy, change or fair. Letters depict the fonts for that period of time. There are partial directions on. The back but not enough to actually read. Both the thermometer and barometer glass.
