Late 19th century 9 long barometer thermometer on a milk glass backing plate. With fancy black lettering. The thermometer has a swirled 1 1/2 diameter reservoir and is in excellent condition. Size of the back plate is 10 1/4″ x 1 5/8″. The milk glass back plate has a crack across where the top set of screws are attached – all the materials are there for repair. Weight is 104 grams. This is a quite superb carved wooden oak oval panel with the relief carving of the deer & trees with the barometer, temperature gauge centrally of which. During our research we have been informed it certainly dates from the 19th century.

Of a black forest origin. Superb relief carved panel with the intricate carving of the horned deer with the trees & foilage. Bevelled carved edge around the circumference.

It has an overall size of about 14.25 x 6.25inches. Max overall depth of about 1inch.
Condition: considering the age, the overall condition is excellent and is not subject to any major blemishes except. Chipping to the ends of two of the leaves at an edge. Temperature gauge not working but complete.
