Louis XVI Giltwood Barometer/Thermometer Charles Biesse, Orleans, 18th Century. A LOUIS XVI GILTWOOD BAROMETER/THERMOMETER. CHARLES BIESSE, ORLEANS, LATE 18TH CENTURY. Carved giltwood and green faux marble finish. Round paper on wood dial with glass thermometer with mercury removed. Cut iron pointer arms with arrow tips. Inscriptions, designs, dials and measurements written in ink using Réaumur temperature scale. Label on reverse announcing Biesses new shop in Orleans. 16 inches wide by 44 inches tall by 2 ½ inches deep. _gsrx_vers_1318 GS 8.4 (1318). Very Rare Aneroid Barometer/Thermometer W. Paviour was established in 1780 as clock, watch, barometer , telescope makers. Very special and collectible piece. The barometer dates from 1860’s. Aneroid barometer and thermometer made of brass-mounted on a turned ribbon wooden plank, signed Paviour Peterborough, made in the early 1860’s. Very good condition and working perfectly.
