Vintage WWI “Barometre Altimetrique” by Manufacture Francaise Saint-Etienne. A vintage item in nice condition showing only wear commensurate with age and use, it is stamped MANUFACTURE FRANCAISE SAINT ETIENNE – ARMES ET CYCLES and come in it’s original leather box. This Barometre Altimetrique was used during WWI for the military aviation. Durant la 1ère guerre, les instruments de cockpit comme les montres, altimètres, etc… N’étaient pas installés en permanence sur le tableau de bord de l’appareil. Ces appareils étaient affectés à un aviateur, il arrivait même fréquemment que le pilote ait du les acheter avec son argent propre… Les 4 anneaux métalliques latéraux, permettaient de le fixer a l’endroit prévu dans le cockpit.
