Marked on the back “DC” with an anchor between the letters. The French Instrument makers firm of Dubois & Casse used the initials D&C and an anchor emblem in their marks. They used brass casings for their barometers. The silvered dial is printed in Spanish, I believe. I think the barometer is a little off. Case is 5.25 in diameter at beveled glass. This is a very nice carved oak wall mount barometer/thermometer. It is 34.5 long and the oak looks to have it’s original finish. The thermometer is intact and works fine. The barometers seems to move as the storms have been rolling through here. When I look up actual atmospheric pressure the reading is not too far off. It also as an adjustment screw on the back for the barometer. It is in excellent condition. I tried to clean most of the dust off but it still needs a good dusting. Vintage Early 1900s J. I also believe this was a promotional gift given out by J. White, an optician based in Glasgow. I do not know who actually manufactured this piece. But experts should be able to tell you based on the insignias on the back. Inner bezel rotates when you turn the crown. Mineral or glass crystal. Case diameter is 48mm. 19th Century Circa 1890? Antique Wall Banjo Barometer Graham Wakefield made of wood. This beautiful antique wall barometer is a piece of history that deserves to be displayed. It hung in my colonial home there ever since. I’ve moved to Florida and it’s time for someone else to enjoy it. Top section with thermometer is missing the glass. It also is removable, so will pack separately. Looks like a walnut veneer? Long door on the back. Has glass tubing inside. See photos as they are part of the description. For sale is a wonderful set of French empire desk top garnitures featuring a thermometer and a calendar. Each set on a rouge marble. Each with a tall plinth form with gilt laurel wreath and telescope cast finials. Decorated with foliate ogee cornice and panel bordered with lotus leaf lappet surround, on conforming cast skirt base mounted on a rouge marble base. Each being attached with a square brass/bronze nut on the bottom marble base. The thermometer with kerosene-based column with red dye. The calendar with probably a reproduction paper calendar for purposes of display inside. One having a retail label on the bottom from a Paris France retailer. We cannot discern the name. Both in overall good condition for age. Some gilt loss, surface scratches etc… The calendar with a frontal corner chip loss to the rouge marble base. Height – 8 1/2 approximately. Base – 4 3/8″ long x 3″deep x 1 1/4 tall (approximately). One base being slightly thicker than the other base. Up for consideration is a very rare fine old Hand Carved Black Forest German or Austrian Figural Wall Hanging Barometer. It stands 22 inches in height by 8 inches across. Most of the instrument is in German. The piece has a wonderful Gothic archway up top of which a young man playing football (soccer) is carved into this piece.
