This is a very neat old pocket barometer. The body is brass with a beveled glass crystal. Barometer goes from 24-31 and the outer ring goes from 0 to 10,000 millibars. This piece does not appear to be working, I see no movement of the needle. The face is marked – Rowell & Co Oxford. An interesting antique pocket barometer. Based third party shippers the order will be cancelled.

Altimeter with its original leather case. Made in Hamburg circa 1930 for Caracas, Venezuela distribution. It has some time and use signs and scratches but still has plenty of beauty. The leather case hinge has been detached from its place. The piece has excellent shape but its operating condition is unknown. It might need some maintenance and minimal repairs, proper inner cleaning and adjustment if you want to use it. Really beautiful, original and vintage piece, ideal for a vintage altimeter rarities collector. It might have marks of the time that has passed, some stains, discoloration, ink marks or other signs of its age are considered normal. What you are looking at, is what you receive. The Swabian metal barometer factory Lufft, founded in 1881, produced valuable measuring instruments and weather stations for domestic and commercial use until 2012. Barometer-thermometer 1900s in good working condition 33×14×3cm. The barometer was faulty and the paint peeled off. Now restored and renovated. A new layer of stain and varnish has been applied. Everything works, there are cracks at the bottom of the frame. Ready to answer all your possible questions.

Everything works, there are cracks on the glass of the barometer, it does not affect the work. Also the thermometer does not hold well, there is a chip at the bottom. This open scale barograph in a glazed carrying case was made by Short and Mason. Changes in atmospheric pressure cause the series of aneroid capsules to move up and down. This small motion is mechanically enhanced by levers which adjust the position of the lightweight metal arm carrying a pen. The charts normally run for a week. This unit is in amazing condition, as is in the photo. I don’t have the paper for it, and it will need to have someone that knows what there doing work the unit. Its been collecting dust on a shelf forever. I will answer what questions I can, but seeing as its older than may grandparents your getting a piece of history. Thank you for your consideration.
