Calibrated in millimeters of mercury with a range of 560-790, the upper portion marked “Pluie, Variable, Fixe”. (Rain, Variable, Fair), the lower portion marked with the maker’s logo. Outer altitude scale is calibrated. In meters from -200 to 2600 meters. Fine blued-steel pointer set beneath a bevelled glass in a rotating bezel. The bevelled glass has a small chip on the inside at approximately 7 o’clock degrees. Drum-formed case with compensation port with adjustment at 12 o’clock degrees. Antique 1800’s handmade mahogany English banjo weather barometer instrument

Up for sale is a very large antique 19th century English banjo barometer instrument. This lovely barometer is made with a lovely silhouette out of a mahogany veneer and ebony wooden trim. It comes equip with a thermometer, a level, dry/damp gauge, dome mirror, and a barometer that needs to be reset. It has a carved bone knob above the level to adjust the barometer along with mechanics in the backside. It is in used condition and measures 38 inches long by 10 inches wide. The thermometer is broken but can easily be replaced. The thermometer housing is missing the bottom trim, and there is a crack in the middle of the banjo as shown in last photos.
